My teenage kids use spotify on their iPhones as their music system. They are never separated from their phones. I think it will be difficult to persuade this generation to pay per track for music. Wouldn't paying for every track off the top 40 albums even at the cheapest price be a very expensive way to access music now that there's no physical disc involved?

I do not have a mobile but I am a big fan of Steve Jobs for creating his style of computer, iPods and iPhones and from the rumours he is investing millions in a tablet that will support lots of other businesses. A truly great inventor and business man in my view and an absolute joke to even think of him in the same sentence as Ryman's boss.

I would like him to be able to be more open with his production facilities in China though.

  • I tried to sign to free spotify but it requires an invite. Unfortunately I dont know anyone who uses it, I read about it in this thread:rolleyes:

Spotify is great. Basically, you can listen to (but not download) as many songs as you want. The free version has about 5 30 second adverts for every half hour of music. These are designed to annoy you enough to pay £10 a month for the paid Spotify Premium version. However, too many of us were putting up with the ads instead of paying up :rotfl:, so they've stopped letting people in for free !

Options if you want to start now:
Pay £10 a month for Premium
    or
Find someone else who is paying for Premium and get an invite to the Free version off them. (Sorry. Not me, as I was lucky enough to get in before the Free one became invite-only and I'm happy to ignore the adverts! )
