Thats the other thing I need to do. Start learning to drive again and try and not become Maureen off driving school by failing....3 times is enough already! :o

Right just played Bingoport, so boring these days but I could do with some amazon vouchers as keep buying books, dvds and mp3 downloads from them!

Need to try and get back into Dooyoo again....and surveys not done any for months apart from a few Newvista ones with decent rewards...

I passed my test in 2003 at my 3rd attempt, a girl I work with failed her test at least 6 times before passing 2 years ago - I got relly nervous at my tests and I think it was what did me in each time I failed.

Now its the best thing I have ever spent my money on :)

Nerves was my issue....and also I put all my lessons on credit card

So once a bit more cash in the savings I will start again, looking back my instructor was pants too, chain smoked and never gave me a mock test!

I would love that freedom :o

Definately one of the best things I ever did - can't imagine not driving now :)

Ask around some friends or friends of friends for reccommendations, Thats what I did.
With still living at home my car is a God send and my little bit of Freedom!! :D I can head off places without having to rely on Taxi driver (dad!!) Plus now I earn extra cash from taking a little girl from my work to Nursery each morning and I work for a babysitting agency as well so good for getting to and from them as well. I wouldn't be able to do that if I didn't drive.

    Couldn't agree more.
I was asked at 17 years old if I wanted driving lessons I turned them down because I wasn't interested. I fell out with my ex best friend at the age of 24 and I couldn't get to some speedway matches I wanted to go to, so that really helped me make up my mind then I wanted to learn to drive and also another friend is 4 years older than me and passed her driving test. My thinking was if she can do it then so can I!!! And I did 18 months later :T:T

My only regret now was not learning at 17 years old!

Passed 5th time but in 6 months. First time failed had an enormous hissy fit dad gave me a valium got a retry same afternoon and failed again! Had something like 100 lessons and spent 6 months driving absolutely everyone around!

  • I started mine at 18, found it sooo easy, but gave it up after a few from lack of cash. Started again at 23 and it was so much harder! Took me a year and about £2000 but passed first time-thank god, because I don't know that I would have gone in again. Dont take failure too well!

Go for it if you can afford it Dawn, it is one of the best things in life you can do, and it makes you feel so good about yourself when you pass, like you can do anything. Do make sure you find an instructor your comfortable with though, it's so important x
