Oh, I love planks :). They are really good for you! Enjoy LBT tonight, I'm having a day off from gym, will go tmrw and do a double class.
  • Did you have a word with my LBT instructor Kavics?!? We had to do more planks in LBT last night - both stationary and moving planks! I am officially planked out! No gym for me tonight but I will be going with my workmate to our onsite gym after work tomorrow. Hope your classes go well tonight!

Well, we thought there was something else wrong with OH's playstation as it would not connect to the playstation network but it turned out the network was down yesterday and it's working fine today - hurrah! I've had two NSDs in a row and I'm hopeful for a third one today.

We are going to pop over to visit our lovely bezzy mates after work today for a cuppa and a catch up which will be nice. We could also do with dropping the recycling off at Asda - wonder if I can bribe OH into going via Asda if I promise pizza for tea? He normally hates any sort of "mission creep" so I don't think it'll happen tbh.

Am now on £36 with onepoll - come on and ask my opinion you !!!!ers! This weekend will be an ebay weekend - I need to get back into the swing of that as I like the bits of money I make from selling my old carp *cough* lovely items that others are desperate for!

    Happy MSE day everyone :)
  • We didn't make it to our friends' house last night as I came home to a really poorly looking OH asleep on the sofa - he'd eaten too much meat and had really bad meat sweats and horribly bellyache the poor thing :( So, we're going to go to our friends' house tonight which means I can't go to the gym with my workmate but this isn't the end of the world as my knee is playing up anyway and I want to rest it so I can do an hour of body pump tomorrow.

No new money news although I have been really good this week. I drew out £10 on monday, swapped £4 with my colleage for 2 x £2 coins and I still had £3.50 left this morning - go me! So, I'm going to buy lunch at work - Jacket and beans which should cost about £1.50 (as I've bought my own cheese in as it costs about £1 for 1 ounce of cheese at the canteen which is a right rip off!). Going to do some ebaying this weekend as it's free listing day - hurrah!
  • Hurrah for the weekend! We went to see our friends on Friday and had tea at their house which was really tasty (and a lot cheaper than the takeaway curry OH initially wanted to have). On saturday I went to the gym for body pump then to the supermarket (spent £61.73) then our friends came over with their cubs so we had a good evening with them. Their little boy is really into juggling and I do poi (sort of like juggling) so in the evening I did some fire poi for his entertainment which went down well :)

Sunday was a lazy(ish) day - I got 6 loads of laundry done (although I had to put the central heating on for the first time this year to get the last load dry as it wasn't drying on the line and we don't have a tumble dryer) and I also took advantage of the free listing day and got 8 things listed on ebay! So, I'm glad I did that and I'm also glad that I got to the gym three times last week.

    Challenges for this week:
go to the gym four times
list the rest of the weddding stuff on ebay (I'll do that at the weekend I think)
make £10 personal spends last the week
No more supermarket shopping this week!

My paypal money arrived in my bank account this morning - £18.55 so I've sent that to the Virgin card, bringing the balance down there to £1795.83 - oh yeah!

At the supermarket this month I've spent £61.73, £9.08 and £19.99 at Boots, bringing my running total to £90.80 and leaving me with £139.20 out of my total £230 budget for the month. Must try a bit harder here! I have enough cat food to last until next payday but then I'll need to place another order so that'll be a good £50 from next month's budget so if I can keep some from this month's to add to next month's that'll be useful. I get the cat food delivered from Pets at Home (via quidco for the cashback) which works out a bit cheaper than the supermarket but works loads better for me as I used to pop to the supermarket all the time for cat food as I was forever running out and I'd end up buying lots of human food there as well as the cat food!

No gym tonight but it is pilates tomorrow :)

Edit - got a £2 coin in my change from the supermarket so I'll put that in our coin jar :)
  • Happy days - made an ebay sale last night, they paid today so I'll pop out later this afternoon to the post office round the corner to post it as the buyer wanted it quickly. I think that will be about £23 once paypal and ebay have taken their share.

OH made a lovely veggie stew for tea yesterday so I had leftovers from that for lunch today with breadmaker bread and it was nom :P

Pilates at the gym tonight then OH said he'll have tea on the table for when I get home from the gym - what a sweetie :D

Am soooo close to payout with Onepoll - balance is currently £37.10!
  • Another ebay purchase to report :) I think I will do like I did when I was ebaying the last time and will wait until I have £50 in my paypal and then withdraw it. So, I'll need to go to the post office and post that before I go to the gym, and I also need to go to the corner shop and buy more carrots - I am really into carrot sticks as a snack at work and we have been eating lots of carrots in other meals this week so we've gone through 2kg of carrots since saturday  But hey, they're cheap and healthy so can't complain.

I thought OH had tried to top himself when I got home from the gym yesterday - he had a massive bandage around his wrist :eek: - turns out he was getting something out of the dishwasher and stabbed himself in the wrist with an upturned fork - poor love :( Despite his injuries he soldiered on and made a lovely bean and fakin beef curry for tea and he made a loaf of bread in the breadmaker too.

Oh, the wedding thank you cards that we need to send out arrived from Vistaprint and they are lovely :) I'll get on with writing those tonight I think.

It's legs bums and tums at the gym tonight then OH is making a stir fry for tea :) Hopefully I will have another ebay sale waiting for me when I get home today too!

It's all very exciting at work - our company is celebrating its birthday very soon and we are having all sorts of exciting and mysterious things happening.... there's a party and all sorts like that, and they've currently fenced off the front car park as they are setting up a massive FREE FUNFAIR out there! How very exciting! Might see if i can encourage some friends to come to the fair with me this weekend (OH is working lates - boo :( )
  • Ooh I've really got the urge to spend money at the moment  I neeeeeeed a new dress to wear to my friend's party at the end of the month- I want a 50's swing dress so I can wear my petticoats from my wedding dress underneath it but the one I've seen that I like is flippin £70 - arg! My friend is having a halloween party and she wants us to wear our wedding dresses and go as zombie brides but as my wedding dress is something out of the ordinary (it's the leopard print Candy Anthony if you know your wedding dresses) I want to wear it again and I don't want to get it covered with zombie makeup :( I think I'll have to look on ebay and see if I can find something cheaper.

And I've wanted a pair of New Rock boots (those massive clumpy goth boots) for years and I started looking at them on ebay again yesterday where there are some that are really quite cheap (£40 or so which is a bargain as they cost about £150 new) but I can't justify buying them :(

Aaaannnddd.... I need to book a b&b very soon and that's going to be another £70 I don't have.

I think I should probably look on ebay for a cheaper frock as I only have £60 personal spends left until payday (on the 20th) then buy the b&b then. God it's a pain in the bum trying to be good with my money sometimes when there are frocks and shoes to be bought :(

How on earth do you manage it when you have an overwheling desire to buy stuff?!?

    My list for this evening:
    1. Don't spend money
    2. Write thank you cards
    3. Dye hair (it's currently a rather fetching shade of peach where it should be bright pink :o)
    4. Make a cake to use up some of the massive bag of cooking apples my workmate gave me.
    5. I've run out of salad and carrots so I will stop off at the supermarket on the way home.

In money news, someone has bid on one of my ebay items, I'm a mere £2 off a payout from onepoll and I think I'm due a quidco payout tomorrow :)
  • Well, the urge to shop has subsided - phew!

I made the apple cake last night and it was lovely - I had to have a test slice to make sure it was ok and I have sent it off with OH to his work today. Didn't get my hair dyed or any cards written but that can wait until the weekend.

Am slightly cheesed off with OH's work. They gave us one of those "gift experiences" for our wedding gift (despite asking us what we wanted, we said cash and they said they'd rather buy us a gift so I told them a couple of things that we wanted and they ignored all that and did their own thing anyway) but didn't bother telling us that they'd already booked the date we had to go on. OH had a look at it yesterday and we should have gone on the experience a couple of weeks ago :( Bum.

It's gym tonight - body pump - which should be good fun. And then I'm going to have beans on toast for tea (it's my favourite post-gym meal) and then chill for the rest of the evening cos it's friday - hurrah!

Have a lovely weekend everyone xxx
  • Hurrah for a most excellent weekend! I've hardly done anything and it's been great. I went to the gym on saturday for body pump, then on saturday evening my friends came over and we went to the funfair at my work - the littleuns loved it! Then my friend (the one without the kids) came back to mine for tea and we watched a load of rubbish on telly - did you know Jodie Marsh is currently training to be a tattoo artist and has her own tv show? It was hilariously bad!

On sunday I was up and around early as Glastonbury tickets went onsale at 9am and we managed to get ours sorted without too much hassle which is nice. We only had to pay £100 deposit then the £330 balance isn't due until the first week of April so we have lots of time to save up. I also booked our hotels - it's a long way from Leeds to Glastonbury so we stay over in Glastonbury town on the day before the festival and then we also stay over on the monday after the festival. It helps enormously as the alternative is to set off very early in the morning on wednesday or drive down on tuesday and sleep in the car in the car park and I'm not up for doing either of those so hotels it is! I used my car savings to pay for the hotels (£147  )so I only have £90 left in my car savings now :( But, OH has over £900 in his and we've both recently mot'd and taxed our motors so the next thing we have to shell out for is our insurance and the money in his savings will pay for that.

I also had a big tidy up in the big spare room and it now looks like a room rather than a dumping ground. I checked over my wedding dress and it looks fine with no marks on it so I'm not going to get it dry cleaned as it doesn't need it. Oh, and I've seen a dress to wear to my friend's party that's only £26 inc postage so that's a bit more promising!

No money news to report - no more ebay sales and I still haven't made it to the magic £40 with onepoll... am only £1.70 off so not far to go!

edit - forgot to say that I'm going to the supermarket tonight - going to try and do as much shopping at lidl then top up at morrisons. Later in the week I'm going to buy some storage bags as part of "mission - tidy the loft"!
  • My ebay sales have finished and I didn't sell as many things as I wanted :( But I've had someone contact me about the most expensive thing I was selling to say that they are interested but how about a bit cheaper so I've offered to knock a tenner off and hopefully they will go for that.

My friend's birthday present has finally arrived and is lovely so that's going in the post today along with two ebay parcels. I rang up the company about it to let them know how disappointed I was and they gave me a 10% discount and refunded the postage so that'll cover the cost of sending the parcel special delivery to my friend.

I've got my storage bags - they were on 3 for 2 in argos but they only had two in stock so I'll need to pop back at some point and pick up the 3rd one.

I went to pilates on tuesday and legs, bums and tums last night! Tomorrow I have arranged a sponsored walk for my department so I'll be doing that instead of going to work which is nice :D

OH has finished his late shifts so I'll see him when I get home tonight - hurrah! I'm 95p off a onepoll payout and I think that the quidco money must come at the middle of the month as no sign of that yet.

Seem to be really skint this month - may have to break into that £50 christmas money I've saved... I'll see how I go and hopefully I can stretch what I have left to last til payday!
