Halifax charge £50 to send you your deeds,that are now held electronically and of no use ,but if you want them its £50.Cheltenham and Gloucester are returning deeds at no cost.If you want Halifax will dispose of them,and no need to pay.I feel that they are mine ,mortgage paid,why should I have to pay,just feel that they need to come home,am I justified?

You are indeed justified! I'm with Halifax also and will soon be in the same situation. I read on a statement recently that if you leave them with halifax, as long as there is not less than £150 owing to them they won't charge any interest on that last £150 so if you still owe a little, it could be worth leaving them. If your mortgage has ended though it's a pain. Another way of screwing us for our last few quid. Of course they are yours-let's hope somebody can do something about this scam. Good on the C&G.
