I'm a little bit annoyed to say the least!!!

How dare you presume that because someone books one of these deals it's not going to be the big fairytale wedding they dreamed of!

We have booked our wedding using this deal at a Brittannia Hotel, we certainly getting value for money but nothing has been left out.

The hotel staff have bent over backwards, are friendly and very helpful

Also included in our package is all table linens and bed and breakfast for us for the evening

I actually agree with you there! :T

Although I don't know what a fairy tail is ;) (not you Chel x)
Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...
  • My friend got married , was on a very tight bugdet and needed a photographer, they used a company called magical photos and was very happy. I think they paid about £500 for all her photos and they were stunning.

The more I think about this thread the more I feel offended!!!

What is one persons taste may not be the next persons

Just because I don't wish to spend thousands and thousands on my day doesn't mean it's not my dream wedding

Well done on quoting this before it was altered, or we'd look like loons!

ETA Thanks to MSE Archna changing it, however I would like to see all comments about 'basic' removed. Think how hurtful this could be to someone?? However I did thank the orginal post for its links before I noticed the comments at the end.

    Cheers Franny, I nearly didn't :o

I just think it's down right rude, especially as Martin is extremely pro money saving

'If you're looking for a lavish affair with all the trimmings, this is unlikely to come up trumps.

Yet if you want an affordable simple affair with some basic food and drink, it won't be easy to organise it much cheaper.'

I would like to see this whole bit changed actually! As we prove time and time again, us MSE'ers often manage to 'organise it cheaper'
The food at my venue is far from 'basic' and comes in not much above that budget!

A much better statement would be something like:

Of course this is not an A-listers wedding but an MSE wedding :D
It will tick the important boxes, food, wine and venue and will give you a set budget to base the rest of the wedding around!

The same theme in everyone who has had a great wedding has been the service has been great. This is not always something that a price can be put on. Some of the "posh" hotels can have terrible service and rather snooty with it too!.............

  • we had our wedding with Holiday Inn (London - Bloomsbury) on this package. it was indeed, truly amazing!!!
the caterer was so helpful, she made it exactly what we wanted!
so,, we finally got our dream day (at a good price!)
it was really decked out perfectly. will post my photos online in the next few months ;)

    also: (good tip),
she told us about this webiste where you can get your OWN professional hard back/hard-page LARGE wedding albums without having to go through a photographer. (usually these photobooks are about 600 pounds (and up))!!
we got our photobook for about 300 quid! (half the price). its exatly the same as the italian albums, hard back, semi-hard pages, very large, lovely covers,, etc..
i really recommend to anyone wanting the professional wedding album. it was really the icing on the cake to have this beautiful memory.

Photoproductions and you can google their name for the website.

also: we found a really cheap rolls royce car hire service, (but he name escapes me right now.. will re-post when I have it at hand!)
