In winter I make HOT trifle. Any left over cake, chopped fruit, jam on the bottom layer, at least a pint of custard on top, perhaps some chopped nuts or glace cherries on top, heat in oven or microwave, serve with left over cream or evaporated milk. Warming and yummy.0

I bought sprouts on sticks, and bought too many. I hung the sticks outside in the porch to keep them fresh, then made stir fry:
Raw brussels, chopped into bits
Brussel tops, ditto
Chopped fresh garlic and ginger
Finely sliced carrot, if there are not enough sprouts
An onion, sliced.
Stir fry in a little oil over a med/high heat.
Make sure they catch a little. The caramelised bits are particularly tasty.
Converted a non sprout eater last week. If you want to go to town, wrap the cooked mixture in filo pastry, bake and serve with a lemon or wine cream sauce.
Made soup from leftover bacon and chestnuts today, which was pretty good.:D0
