I'm a medicine counter assistant and we're not supposed to supply hydrocortisone products for use on the face, neck or genital areas (and any good pharmacy will ask what it's for).
I use oilatum all over for eczema and it's brilliant, expensive but it's worth it. I use the shower gel but there are bath adds and creams as well.0 -
The OP mentions the doctor's opinion on the eczema GlasweJen, it's fine to use it on the eye area with medical advice. The pharmacist can sanction the sale in that instance. I have been prescribed Modrasone which is far stronger, tho clearly not advisable to use on a daily basis.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

I know that's going to be difficult with it being on the face but when I tried it (couldn't sleep from itchyness!) it did calm my skin right down. Might be worth a go.
This does actually help. er...although many-a-time I've woken up to find that I've ripped it off in my sleep during a ferocious scratching session. The trick (as always) is to keep cool in bed. Even when I was home for Christmas we still slept with the window open during the frost/snow.
I've had eczema from birth (I'm in my 50's) and for long periods I suffered with the 'raw meat' type. This is when I tried the above, particularly on my arms and legs which looked like something you'd see on a butchers slab.
A method which might work for a patch on the face is to apply a sticking plaster on the area overnight. I've have found this very effective over the years and used to buy loads of it for localised eczema areas.
As for soap, I never use it on my face, and never anything with perfume. I shower twice daily just using soap for my privates. When I'm home (not very often) I like to have a few baths in Oilatum which leaves the skin feeling very moist. Either way, it is always followed by moisturising with Aqeous cream (a big tub from Boots) all over, and I like vaseline intensive care for the face.

Okay I know some may rant and rave having read with what I'm just about to say, but here goes...
I developed eczema, from head to toe, when I was just 17 till around 23 years of age. Horrible weeping patches that my pj's stuck to my skin and I also had an irritating patch on the side of my nose, near my eye. I tired every cream going. When I was at my wit's end I was finally advised by a family friend to try a sunbed (a home portable one) every day for 20 mins (10 mins back and front) to see if it would help. Within a few months my eczema completely vanished and I've never used a sunbed since. That was 13 years ago!
I still get the odd patch behind my knees and when I do I use Elocon Cream (which you can get from your doctors). When I apply this my eczema is put to rest after 2 days use.0 -
Lush Dream Cream is meant to be good for exzema.
