Buying an used car in N Yorks

Car's been written off during this bad weather and need to replace it. We've not long moved here (just outside Harrogate) and wondered if anyone can recommend or maybe tell me of anywhere to avoid?

Well its not in North Yorks but I have always found the Car People Wakefield give a decent deal. They don't haggle well you might get extra mats but nothing significant.

You could try comparing prices with your local garages and using it as a haggling tool.
