How can i repair a shower curtain?

Options
It's got torn at the top (from each of the holes that the rings go in) so i need to mend it so i can hang it. Any ideas on what i could use that would be a) waterproof and b) not look too awful? I suppose i could just buy a new one but that doesn't feel very thrifty and in any case i like this one, it's got a map that i plan my world travels on every morning!

    Take the rings off.

Draw a line across the top of the shower curtain just below where the holes already are in pencil.

Cut the top off cleanly with a Stanley knife or scissors along the line.

Punch new holes with a hole punch: the type of thing you use to punch holes into paper before adding them to a folder. ie. one of these:

    Put the rings back in.

Before punching the holes, you could put some clear tape across the curtain. This would help ensure that the holes don't tear out of the curtain.
  • Or you could get some pretty, hardwearing silver duct tape and put strips of it across the whole top and it'll look like banding decoration! You can then poke holes through the duct tape.
