Chocolate mint cake

I am looking for a recipe for a cake my mother used to make. It appeared in Good Houskeeping in, or before, 1966. I have been in touch with Good Housekeeping who were, understandably, unwilling to go through their back numbers, they did come up with a similar recipe, but not the one I am looking for.
The cake was cooked in a ring cake tin and had icing made from creme de menthe, butter and icing sugar. It was a very rich, dense, moist cake and the ingredients included ground rice. I cannot remember the other ingredients - how much flour, how many eggs etc, or whether it was flavoured with cocoa or chocolate. I have not found anything similar on the internet and just wondered if anyone remembered this cake?
