Globaltestmarket Gone Bad!

Hi folks,
From being one of the best survey sites on the net globaltestmarket has gone downhill all the way just like another well known surveys site has done.
Now its mainly sweepstake entries and with the points being reduced from 50 to an average of 35 its becoming increasingly difficult to reach the 1000 point payout.
Whearas one time you could reach 1000 points with an average of 20 surveys or less it will now take more than 30 as you dont get the 5 points any longer if you are not suited to a survey, and at lest half of the surveys now are sweepstake entries only.
After being a member for 4 years I have put in for my last payment as I have reached 1000 again and then that's me.
If enough people react in the same way I'm sure they will rethink their tactics.

Thats quite odd because a lot of people are saying this but its not that bad for me. Yes the surveys have decreased in points, about 80% of mine are 35 with 10% being 30 and 10% being 40. And i do miss the good old 50 point surveys
However i am a bit confused by you saying you get a lot of sweepstake surveys. I ussually get 1-2 surveys daily, sometimes even 3, and at maximum 1 sweepstake survey per week, sometimes i get even none. And i always qualify for the surveys for them, which is why i like them most as opposed to valued opinions etc. that always turn me down.
The only time i get turned down is if they have reached the need number of entries.
But yes, i do hope they return to their 50 point surveys, maybe when the economy sorts itself out and more companies start using surveys, but i doubt they will. I can see a perfectly good reason for them to cut the amount of points, but no reason to increase them because they will still find the needed amount of people to complete the surveys, evn if its for less.MSE allowed me to see the light0 -
I've noticed the same, alot of sweepstakes and my points total is really missing the 5 point screen out bonus! It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

I completely agree. If and when I ever get to 1000 points I'll be closing my account. My total has been hovering round the 700 mark for months. Sometimes it goes down, then back up again and I finally broke through the 800 points mark today (though it might go down again!).0

Hi,
I would think the best thing to do is don't close account just don't bother doing the surveys even the ones that offer 30-40 points then they might get the message.
They have a system I think where you can't sign up twice from the same address, so just in case they go back to the old better rewards it might be better to wait and hope.

I hadn't realised the 5 point screen out thing had gone.
I have noticed though that the email is telling you the points for doing the survey, but when you do the survey the final mention goes on about sweepstake entries instead, which I've found quite misleading.
Perhaps a concerted email protest might jog things along a bit. (although I won't hold my breath.)All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
I'm getting constant reminders to do the same sweepstake survey so it seems a lot of people are not bothering to do the sweepstake ones.
Might take some time for everyone to give them the message.

I think it's related enough to go here:
I currently have 1080 points on globaltestmarket, and in the FAQs it says:
The minimum number of MarketPoints needed to redeem is 1,000.
So, instead of redeeming 1000 now and starting from scratch to work up to 1000 again, which seems like it'd take a lot longer now, can I redeem any amount over 1000, so I get 1500 points worth of money for example?0 -
I'd cash in my points now and not try and wait, as the way they are going no one really knows what will happen in a few mths time.
