Why don't you just take a p!ss on all the taxpayers in the UK who are funding your benefit?

I actually work for the DWP and I make less money actually working full time for them than the people who come in to claim! The fact that someone has the opportunity to buy a property at a knock down price then make money on it when the tax payer has afforded it to be done is a disgrace and then to find out that a house in Turkey is available for a 6 month holiday, fully paid... this is what makes me sick when I myself have knocked my pan in for the last 17 yrs and got hee haw to show for it, oh apart from £5.03 in the bank until payday! No wonder this world is in the tatters it is. Just makes you wonder what is the point in living when others are struggling!

I wonder how incapacitated he really is if he manages to fly to Turkey and live abroad for 6 months every year.

  • Surely this can't be happening!

You have no idea how many people are claiming for benefits whilst being "incapacitated". Having had my eyes opened from work with the DWP, I am disgusted and to think people who work get no help what-so-ever!! What else will they be demanding next?! I would be better off on benefits! Maybe even have a place in Turkey eh....

IB is an exportable benefit. However, leaving a social housing property unoccupied for six months at a time is not allowed.
    Gone ... or have I?

2 people have thanked you for contemplating the point of your existance!

Are things really that bad?? Not sure if you are unhappy with the individuals claiming or the system - either way, you can't change it.

If you are going to get stressed about those on benefits then maybe its time to change jobs?

  • I was involved in a car crash which left me with a painfull condition called fibromyalgia.(i will swap positions right now)
My compensation was put in a special needs trust.
Yes i get benefits but obviously the dwp claim it back off the insurance company i sued.So there fore it is my money anyway.
Its just how the system works.

Not one of you idiots have answered my question....you are too self pityfull because you are slaves to the rat race.
I am allowed to live in turkey for 6 months, 3 months at a time

That sounds terrible, I'm sorry to hear it.

People should be less quick to judge - the 'scroungers' are in a minority, and most on benefits are in real need of our support. Particularly for those people aren't basically self sufficient financially, we have a duty to help out - can you imagine if you became ill/had an accident, were unable to work again, and there was no support in place?

Sorry, I can't really answer your question fethiye2003.

A fair few people who work also claim tax credits...which is a help and also a type of benefit.

Believe me, you would not be better off on benefits...financially possibly (I'm not compared to the two income family I was in) but mentally, nope. Being on benefits is absolutely soul destroying especially if it is a forced move onto them, you feel the lowest of the low and some people treat you as if you are the poo they wipe off their shoes.

It's not all it is cracked up to be.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.
