I have this recipe out of a magazine, it looked nice. for a Pasta & vegetable Frittata. Just need some help
serves 4 Time - 30mins - Cost Per Serving 69p Calories - 332
75g - small pasta shapes
25g - butter
1 bunch of spring onions
1 pepper
1 courgette
4 eggs
4tbsp Milk
75g Cheddar Cheese Grated
1tsb Mixed Dry Herbs
I have a 500g block of Cheese & 500g Tub of Butter
The thing is, for weights I dont have anything in my House to do so. Im new to Cooking& its in my own House so slowly building up equipment, obviously Scales had never been needed before.
Anyone got a tip to how I can use the correct amount without scales.
Also you cook this in a frying pan. Im unsure on what Size to use.
and can I substitute the Courgette for something else?
I imagine after ive made it i can make a whole host of combinations. Its pretty much like an Spanish Omlette,
Hope you can help
Thanks

I'll translate it...
Put knob butter/oil into frying pan
Lightly fry all veg
Add precooked pasta to brown slightly
Pour in whatever amount of eggs
Cook through eggs
Cover in however much cheese you feel like.

lol. the reason i asked is ive attempted to make an omlette before and i obviously put too much milk in and in the end as it wasnt cooking, just made it into scrambled eggs rather than makin myself ill.0

Would I be able to put this into a Baking Tray and put it in the Oven. Im concerned it s gonna stick to my Frying Pan and be destroyed
My Baking Tin is 26cm x 20cm x 4cm
Is it too big do u think?
Also what Temp and duration should I hve it in the Oven0 -
The 25g of butter is a heaped tablespoonful, you could use olive oil instead. The cheese is however much you can spare.75g is about one sixth of 500g.
I wouldn't cook a frittata in a baking tray, there's no reason why it will stick to your frying pan.Frying pans are meant for cooking this sort of thing;) If it does stick,it will still be edible - don't worry:D0 -
How can I guess the Pasta amount lol
(I think am gonna use my £10 discount codes for some scales )0 -
How big is your pasta packet? If it is 500g then you need about a sixth of the packet.
Right,I've just weighed out 75g of farfalle pasta and it's about 2 handfuls.I've got lady's hands:D ,so if you've got big man's hands you might get away with one handful, but then again you might have a big man's appetite so 2 handfuls might be better!
To be honest you really only have to worry about weighing if you are baking.Cakes and bread go seriously wrong if you get quantities wrong, but a frittata will be more forgiving.
By the way you can sub the courgette for peppers, sweetcorn, peas, mushrooms - anything fairly firm and chunky.

Thanks
Yeah i was gonna put some Mushrooms & Peppers in. and cut up some of my honey roast Ham up and put it in. unless i use it for ma Sandwich 2morrow.
I was just corned to how well it would all stick together if i didnt use the approriate amounts considering the only liquid is 4 table spoons of milk and 3 eggs, didnt seem much to me, Oh well I can all but try as a newbie0
