Applying for sainsburys loan

Options
i am going to apply for a sainsburys loan and was wondering, when they ask you what it is for should i admit that it is for debt consolidation or not, does it go against you that you are about £6000 worth of credit card debt?

Any current debts you have will certainly be taken into account, as will any available but unused credit. So yes the £6k will be considered when they decide if you can afford the loan.

Whilst they always ask what it is for whether it is for debt consolidation or to purchase something (such as a car) should not affect the decision.
