Thinking of this bed
http://www.kdbeds.com/p/Joseph-Wales-4ft-Small-Double-Maple-Bed.htm
possibly with this mattress on same site

Any comments? Matress is an open coil one and the bed is slatted. Had problems in past with slatted bases and mattresses but unsure what type of mattress we had.
TIA

If only I could stop finding good bargains on this site, I would save a fortune! :rotfl:

I would have thought you would be OK with an open coil mattress on a slatted base. The mattresses which could cause problems are the more expensive pocked sprung ones, as they have a large number of independent springs which can get pushed into the gaps and get damaged.0

Open coil sprung mattresses are fine with slatted bases. However Joseph aren't known for high quality.
Also you should beware about KD Beds satisfaction guarantee. If you read their terms and conditions, all they do is conform with distance selling regs and the sale of goods act, and you can't use the mattress then return it if you don't like it. There are a few sellers who say they give a satisfaction guarantee, but don't. So read all terms and conditions.0 -
Think I may just order the bed for now - read another post re pre-VAT increase - and sort mattress after.
Any recommendation for small double - by sound of things open coil sprung and around £150 (in sale?) welcome.
Thanks
PS Thanks also for advice already givenIf only I could stop finding good bargains on this site, I would save a fortune! :rotfl:0 -

Don't bother looking for mattresses in the sales, as the sale is often a con, and is actually their normal price. Instead find an on line seller who has low prices all year round.0
