Hide speaker cable

I am trying to hide my speaker cables that run vertically down the corners of two walls. Ideally I don't want to chase them in but to cover them with some plastic trunking or conduit, which I can then paint.

The trouble is I can't find any conduit that fits into the corner - is all seems to be designed to run along skirting boards or along desks etc.

Does anyone know where I could get some?

Thanks.

  • Hellion - thanks for the reply - it's pretty close to what I want - but  to fit into the corner I was looking for something with more of a triangular cross-section, not rectangular like those are.

On another forum I read someone managed to get triangular trunking from Homebase :)

Why are your speakers on the wall?

Thought it was best to have them at seated, head height, for best listening performance.

so if they were on stands, you'd hide the cables easier, that way.

Anything in http://www.richersounds.co.uk thats where our EXPENSIVE cable came from & we leave it running around on the floor edges - then people can see we've got the posh stuff!!

  • trafalgar - thanks for the tip - I'll have a look in homebase.

vansboy - different speakers come with different recommended mounting heights and positions. The one's I have recommend that the rears speakers are located about 6ft up the wall and come with wall mounts. So, that is where they are - I just need to hide the cable now. No matter how expensive the cable, it need to be hidden (according to my wife).

  • Beyond HiFi (http://www.beyondhifi.net) do a flat speaker cable with self adhesive back - Acoustic Research I think. Hell of a lot cheaper than from other places.

Very thin and can be painted over - You could also put masking tape over it and paint over it, this way should be hard to spot in the corner unless you are really looking hard for it.

Might keep the missus happy too?
  • Andy - thanks I'll bear that in mind if I can't find a bit of trunking to hid it behind.
