Getting a Mortgage after Bankruptcy

Hi,
I’m not sure if anyone may be able to offer me some advice on a mortgage?
We have been renting a flat for 3 years now and from what we have been told we think we may be able to get a house for not much more than the £800 we pay out on our rent each month! However, we have both been bankrupt in the past. We obviously realise that this will have its implications in terms of the rate etc… But we just wanted to know that it is possible for us to get a mortgage?
We would like to see a mortgage adviser (preferably someone who’s independent) – Can anyone recommend a good mortgage adviser in Southampton?

Well that's the tricky bit as we would be asking our parents to help out but we need a rough idea at what we would be looking at. The properties in this area are around £225,000 - £250,000 for a 3 bedroom house...0

Well if your deposit is under 25% its probably a no go.TBH the best thing is to work hard and save. The housing market in my opinion isn't moving upwards for a year or two.I have a deposit of around 23% and Im still not gonna buy.
Whats your joint income??? (There are planty more on here far more qualified to give advice than me).Mind you common sense plays a large part0
