Edit: From memory I think if you put an older driver onto your son's insurance as a named driver (not as the main policy holder) it can bring the premium down, even if the older driver never actually drives the car

Bought my Daughter a 57 Reg Citroen C2 for Christmas/18th Birthday,

Quote for her on own £1890 Fully Comp £750 XS
Quote for her as main driver with me as named driver (Female37) Now £960
Quote for her as main driver with both myself and Hubby Male47) as named drivers now £645 Fully Comp

so would agree with others here, bung a couple of "Mature" adults on there and it should drop the premium, just make sure the main driver is the actual young person or you risk "Fronting" (Company was Admiral)

Usually some cheap 306s in Autotrader and they are low insurance group and great mpg in diesel. Try 1stcentralinsurancedotcom for insurance.

Thanks for all the advice so far, really appreciate the insurance advice, maybe we can get the quote lower which would be great. Had a look today but nothing yet.
