refunds from council for paid services not done

Our Local Council has a so callled service of picking up recyled items each week, i.e. food waste plastics paper etc. yet it has been a lottery that they will boother with this. there has been food waste not colleced for 3 weeks in a row, papers not collected in over a month etc. they sometimes seem to randomly just pick up a few from some homes and not others. as expected this causes more litter and waste and promotes vermin in the streets. If this was a private service id paid for I think I would be legally entitled to sue for bad service or at least get some refund. Is it possible to do something similar with the councils?

Unless the council offers a local scheme then you can't.

Why not ring council and ask why the service promised has not been delivered (or collected!).If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0

Dont rely on the council anymore, take your rubbish/recyclables to the tip if its possible.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

I was in the same satiation. Bulk uplift never done (had a sh*t load of stuff in my garden to be picked up and left for a month!!!) We pay for this and no come back?0
