Adding to bread mixes?

Hi all,
I got a compact mixer for christmas which has dough hooks so I wanted to try out making some bread today.
I've got two Hovis Granary bread mixes in the cupboard to use but was wondering if I can jazz them up in some way to eat with my stew tonight? It's a 495g dry mix which you add 300ml water and 1oz butter to make a 2lb loaf.
I thought about adding cheese to it but I don't know how much I should add? Any ideas? Also wondered about adding some slightly sweated onion?
Anyone know what quantities I should use or have any other suggestions of what to add? I'm interested in any alterations, not just savoury ones!
Thanks,
Kevin x

I have never added stuff to bread mixes but i do experiment with the stuff i make at home in my bread maker. I often add cheese, onions, sun dried toms, olives etc to a white loaf or use half white half wholemeal flour and add in some seeds.
Trial and error. try adding 2 oz cheese and some onion and see what happens.MF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/2000
