xbox live free trial code won't work

my son got a 1 month trial free with a game and although he has already got xbox live membership himself we wanted his sister to be able to use the free trial (on the same xbox)so she can join in the chat with her own headphones. Apparently when he's tried to use it it says it doesn't recognise the code. could this be because he already has membership attached to that particular xbox do you know? thanks

You can have as many subscriptions you want attached to 1 xbox, are you usre the code has been entered correctly ?
apart from entering the code correctly eg you enter it (im not saying your son cant enter it but an O could be mistaken for a 0, just an idea) im not sure what else you could do apart from call xbox support0 -
