Affiliate Marketing for the little guys...?

Hey Guys,

Hope all are well and having lovely holidays!

I'm looking into affiliate marketing, such as how Cashback websites use, to earn a bit of money on the side. One of my friends who works as a self-employed Personal Trainer by day has his website using affiliate links and it's earning him the occasional buck depending on the website traffic. The beauty is, he can be in the pub on a Sunday night while a bunch of laid back clicking consumers could be shopping via his website 24/7 earning him a portion of the trade!

There are a lot of websites offering advice, guidance, free trials "guaranteed" income, etc. Which a lot seem to be American and not at all helpful. The easiest route is probably direct to the affiliate such as Amazon--but I wondered what where everyone's thoughts?

Best!
Will
