have been passed for an mortgage got to sign forms but it does not need to go to the underwriter can do this himself, but it has all been done, my bank has decided to lend my husband and I dispite my having a bad credit history 3 defaults all small but paid.
I was asked if I had been bankrupt no
I thought I was asked if I had any CCJ no,
but think now they meant have I ever had any, none on credit history, when They solictor does a search to see if I have been bankrupt, is there a list held about CCJ's if there was any it would be about 12 to 16 years ago. The County court office says that records are not held after 6 years and in london they are deleted afer 6 years , really worried now, I have been credit checked and will be putting a 38.8 deposit down with joint salary of 44,000
thanks

Hi There
All defaults, judgements and bancrupties will be removed from your credit file 6 years after they were put on, paid or not. I think to put your own mind at rest regarding your credit status you should order a copy of your credit report form the following sites:
https://www.experian.co.uk
https://www.equifax.co.uk
If the judgements have not been removed after the specified time, or there are things on there you were not aware of you are entitled to dispute them, and there are procedures with each credit reference agency to be followed.I am a Mortgage Adviser

Sorry for getting the wrong end of the stick, one of my first responses to anyone with a credit file questions is to get a copy of their own files...
no they shouldn't do, once any ccj's or defaults or bancruptcy's have been moved from your file they will not be known about by anyone, so you have nothing to worry about
good luck with the mortgage
