Warning over price on John West Tuna at Tesco

I ordered some John West tuna 4 x 185g in brine with Tesco. Now one pack of tuna was advertised on their website for £2 for a pack of four. The offer was running until 3/1/10 and I had a confirmation e-mail that the price is £2. I had my delivery today and was charged £3 instead of £2! I went to their website and guess what, they had sneakily changed the price to £3 but the offer still said until 3/1/10.
I'm sure they can't just change the amount surely when the offer is still on? I telephoned Tesco (I'd ordered quite a bit of tuna) and I will be getting a refund of the difference. I thought I'd warn you to double check the price of your items you have ordered against your confirmation e-mail as I suspect a lot of people will get caught out.

I wasn't aware they would double the difference. I was lucky I got the difference back once over as they seemed to be hesitant in one refund.0

No. DD is only available in store , not on dot.com ,Never pay more than you have too0 -
You are right that you were lucky to give the difference as they can pull offers and/or change them at any time with no notice. With dot.com it says you pay the price as it is on the day.If you find you are drinking too much give this number a call. 0845 769 75550

i found them quite sneaky when i got 3 wines for £10, they substituted one bottle i said yes fine but then that meant it wasn't in 3 for £10!!!!!! They refunded me the £8 extra I had to pay and also £2.67 for naan breads that went out of date that day and cookies that were hard and went out of date the next day, i had just mentioned these 2 in passing. So yes they do make mistakes but in my exp are very good at just giving you your money back without any questions.Debt Free Wannabe by 1 January 2016

No I've checked that with them before, apparently thats an instore only policy :rolleyes:0 -
in my experience tesco are very good when they overcharge on .com
i ordered the finest meal deal, they subbed one item and it overcharged me by £13 something, i rang them whilst the driver was there and they sorted it and gave me a £5 delivery coupon as they missed off items and i had to go out. very pleased with them
