Argos returns policy

Does anyone have experience of Argos returns without a receipt.
We have 2 presents which aren't suitable for the age - obviously argos as htey have the catalogue number on them.

It says on website that proof of purchase needed, but wondered if they maybe gave vouchers to exchange.

Don't really want to drag the stuff into town if no good.

Thanks
Now proud Mumto3 :j

  • If they def have the Argos sticker on them clearly showing the code and are in the current catalogue, then Argos should allow you to return them.

and they should give you back the selling price on a gift card. IT happened to the man on the next till who returned an item with no receipt.

Mind you. I suppose it also depends on who serves you.
  • I sent in today to return some Wii games. SA said if there is the argos item code on the box they will refund without receipt. Sadly my item code had been peeled off so got no refund.

If they were bought on a credit or debit card in the first place, Argos can check exactly what was paid for. You need the card details and also the approximate date they were paid for.

I know this from experience. One was a coffee machine and the other a PS3. Got refunds for both!
