Mortgage for older people

I am 55 and my husband is 60. We own our house in France( no mortgage, no debts) but have no property in the UK. We want to see if we can get a mortgage here to buy a place for our return visits
Any advice as to who might give us a loan and best options avaiable.

How long do you enviseage this mortgage lasting and will you be able to afford any repayments after you have retired?
The only thing that is constant is change.
  • We are both retired now and have company pensions, could pay up tp 550 per month for 20 years, borrowing 80k
  • What happens if either of you die or fall sick and are unable to travel before the end of the 20 years?
