i've been plodding along keeping our heads above the water, then i got awarded carers allowance for my son. i contacted tax credits and told them, and asked the guy if it would alter my arward at all, he said it wouldn't until next year as it didn't alter our income above their threshold for this year.
well today i checked our account and they have paid in £80 less than i was expecting. i called them up and our tax credits have been altered by this amount every month! this means they have taken back nearly half of my carers allowance each month. i just so angry as i'm left with just £25 this month instead of the lovely £105 i was expecting, and it means i have to tweek our outgoings yet again!
sorry rant over
