Next online sale - how do you pay?

I have just ordered some items in the online sale and thought that I would be required to enter card details in order to checkout. However I was not required to do this and just wondered how paying them works. Do you get an invoice with the order?

  • i believe they open you up a store 'credit card'. it's the only way - if you search mse it'll bring up a thread from a few months ago about it.

    Hi

Have just checked my email and it invites me to view my account. Have logged in and there is a credit balance, statement page and payments section.

Do you know what there interest free period on purchases is? Have tried searching but am unable to find the thread you refer to.

    Thanks
  • sorry can't find the link.. perhaps it was a discussion I had at work......... hopefully someone will be along soon with more info.

Can't tell you the exact interest free period, but I can tell you that they send out a statement and you can pay it with a credit card...thereby extending your interest free period. Owing to the timing of my bill, I won't actually be paying for my sale shopping until the end of February!!
  • They send me an email to view my account, its followed by a paper statement a few days later. You can pay online with a card or over the counter.

My statement date is usually about 30th of the month, and the bill has to be paid by about 20th of the next month.
Most of the items from this sale will not be on the December statement so in effect I won't have to pay for them until 20th Feb (and even longer if this is then paid by credit card!) ;)
    :hello:
  • I've just been caught out in the same way as the OP. I had no idea I was opening a credit account and just sat there at the end of the ordering process clutching my debit card and wearing a blank look

I'm sure to regular online Next shoppers this is no biggie but it was the first time I'd shopped with Next online and if I'd known I was opening a credit account I wouldn't have continued. I was expecting it to be like "normal" online shopping and I don't think it was made clear anywhere that it wasn't. Is there any way you can pay for your purchases immediately online? I've tried searching their site but I can't find anything...and it isn't giving me the option to pay off my account as the balance isn't showing yet.

I admit I've probably been a bit naive but it's left a bad taste in my mouth. This year was going to be about reducing my amount of debt and credit and I feel duped into increasing it...
