Does anyone know how to get a free domain name - no strings attached?

All of domain name registrars charge a fee for registration, although in some cases (e.g. .co.uk) this is very low. Therefore the only way that you will get a "free" domain name is with strings attached, for example by signing up to an ISP for a year.
Try http://www.oneandone.co.uk who will register and re-direct a domain name for £1.99 / year, and then get some "free" i.e. advertising supported webspace from freeserve etc. to actually host your website.0 -
I think some ISP's give you a free domain name.
Apart from that you'll have to buy and 1&1 is the cheapest! ;D0 -
try https://www.dot.tk - they offer https://www.yourname.tk for free but you must have an old address for it to auto-forward to!0

Not free, but I've always found https://www.123-reg.co.uk to be good. Please note that whilst I am a mortgage broker my comments on this site are intended as general discussion and NOT personalised mortgage advice. Please click on my name and follow the link to see a full regulatory disclosure.0
