Where to buy Maternity Wear?

Hi all,

I'm really finding it hard looking in shops for maternity wear (First baby and I haven't a clue about maternity clothes, sorry lol). I was wandering if anyone can suggest any shops which stock maternity wear that they know of in Belfast, Tyrone/Armagh areas as I travel to these areas mainly.

Many thanks,

Charisma :)

Next, Mothercare, Mamas & Papas (Victoria Square, Belfast), New Look, TopShop, Dorothy Perkins all have maternity ranges but you may need to look in their bigger stores or online.

I'm pretty sure is a shop in Belfast called Formes which is exclusively maternity wear - it's in Fountain Street (back of Boots), opposite the back door to New Look.
  • Thanks for your replies!

CL - I need actual stores as I prefer to try clothes on before buying. Thanks though.

Lobell - Thanks for the list. Yeah i'm having trouble locating the maternity wear in some of those stores. Hence posting for specific shops that people know do stock maternity wear. Might try Formes if they are open tomorrow :)

Formes is great but expensive for clothes you only wear a couple of months. Dunnes has usually quite a good range and H&M is another place to try.
** Congratulations too by the way **

  • Congratulations. Things are improving on the maternity wear front. It's hard to beat New Look for cheap and cheerful - Belfast City Centre and Boucher have the maternity range. Dorothy Perkins also have a maternity range as do Dunnes in Belfast City Centre. Marks and Spencer in Sprucefield have maternity as well - not sure what other M&S stores keep it. Also Ebay can be great for bargains.

  • I mostly bought mind on ASOS.com and Ebay. Did buy a pair of jeans from New Look and they were the most uncomfy jeans I had ever worn - also keep having to pull them up. Leggings are great and cheap to buy.

Formes isn't there anymore- not sure if closed down or relocated- and Dunnes no longer do maternity wear. I found that Red Herring in Debenhams was best, I got some over the bump jeans there and they were the most comfortable things ever, great for the few weeks after baby born too!Next had nice stuff too, I wasn't that keen on New Look stuff either. Peacocks in Park Centre have a maternity range too, didn't buy anything to can't comment on what it's like. Congratulations by the way and good luck!
Oh and Dorothy Perkins have some lovely maternity stuff at the mo - typical now that I don't need it anymore!

    Hi!
    Congratulations!!
Next can be hard to beat for work maternity wear, but there is also a lot to be said for finding clothes in styles that suit the pregnant shape. I found Gap has really long tops and trousers that go just on the hips, they also always tended to have sales on. You can also extend your trousers by using a hair elastic through the button hole.
Zodee is very good for nice maternity bras.
I had a pair of jeans from Blooming marvellous and I was nearly sad to pack them away at the end of the pregnancy. Lovely fit. Ebay is also very good, both for buying and selling the stuff at the end.
    Good luck!

I got mine from Next and New Look.

New Looks jeans were the best and SO comfortable! (The under the bump ones).
