Token payments to creditors

Hi all, our DMP is being set up & we have been told to make token payments to all of our creditors this month. woman from payplan was very vague on it & just said to cancel all direct debits and pay them what i wanted ( obviously wanted to leave work for xmas)

What should i do to pay them? post or by phone? and should i write them a letter etc? im really confused

thanks

  • thank you, for a lot of our credit cards its all done online & would take ages to get a statement sent & i need to mae a payment around the 5th. It looks like i will be making the token payments before payplan have sent the letters out so should i write a letter with a cheque? x

Im sure the woman is entitled to some time off for Christmas and considering these people are working for you for free a little festive consideration wouldn't go a miss from you.

Please understand that Payplan and the other free DMP outfits are held in high regard here. Whether or not you meant it, your comment about the woman wanting to get away for christmas was taken as a criticism. Hope that explains the reaction you got.

  • i completely understand how it could have seemed snotty but to be honest it was meant completely lightheartedly & i didn't feel like his comment was needed. I was asking for advice & that's why i posted, i in no way bad mouthed pay plan & think the work they do are great. I would never have a go at someone on a forum for writing a comment & i took offence to it. I didn't come on here to argue so i would like to forget about it now. x
