Did anyone brave it today? I couldn't face it (and had work to do!) but am tempted to pop down tomorrow or Monday, despite the fact that people will still be off work and it will probably be rammed.
Did anyone go? And if so are there any good bargains to be had instore that aren't online?
PS Hope this is the right place for this thread!

I went. I got there about 1pm and walked from Topshop down to marble arch station. I found that most stock had sold out, everything else I wanted had sold out and staff seemed to have vanished unless they were behing till points (and there were not enough staff serving at till points as queues were too long and tills unmanned in many stores) Whole shelves were unfilled, empty or with damaged stock left. Most stores boasted 50% so not enough of a discount IMO to be sold out...am expecting returns to stores soon when customers realise there eyes were bigger then their bellies so to speak!
Think my overall opinion of Oxford Street was that it was "overrated". I very nearly went home after about an hour as I just couldn't find anything as so many stores just seemed to have sold out. Glad I went to Westfield though, it made up for the 3 hours walking through the crowds (its noprmally about 30 minutes to walk down Oxford Street without pointless searching to find empty shelves and stands and no discounts (they'd taken the signage too on most stands).
I went to Topshop, not worth it as I went on xmas eve and there was no new stock I could see.
Went through BHS, nothing I could see the look of that I liked, but then never have been a BHS fan.
John Lewis closed.
River Island I walked past as it looked to busy, I used to work there a long while ago and know the best stuff gets bought in the first few hours...and returned 3 days later.
House of Fraiser looked promising, but discounts not that good.
B Never to busy to B beautiful was closed.
Debenhams discounts were better then House of Fraiser for the very same products. Saw a skincare set in H.O.F for £21 and then in Debenhams it was £20. The clothes were not that discounted. I only took a quick glance though.
H&M looked good but again, too many prams (why do so many people take their little tiny babies and children to the sales to cloth shop for themelves??!)
Boots- looked like most stuff had gone though many perfume sets. Walked in walked out as it was too busy for me and I didn't really want/need anything anyway.
M&S was closed.
Selfridges was quite good, but queues were marathon long, some good bargains though (as ususal!) I checked out the beauty, fashion and sportswear. The bags were so popular they had caudioned off the entire area with security guards!I did see some stuff I liked but just the fact that I queued for 20 minutes for the toilet and then another 20 minutes for a price check put me off queueing for anything other then a T-shirt which I stashed and took to the top floor to pay for!
Superdrug was good for "next years presents" (you know the ones: you either end up using them yourselves or they gather dust while you find something you prefer better as they look so tacky 1 year on!) stuff started at 49p. I was there around 4pm and it was heaving though. Customer wanting refunds was what held up the queues. Most electrical stuff had gone. Many staff around though to ask questions too!
I went to Westfield, got there at around 4.30 left at 9pm. Much better then the entire Oxford street! I spent all my Xmas gift cash there on bargains.
Boots had Xmas gift stock left, everything half price but not the good stuff IYSWIM! Mostly the under £5 stuff left from what I could see and few no.7 things.
Lush had sold out of all the Xmas gifts from what I could see. Aparently next delivery not 'till monday. Whole clear tables and no more sale signs!
Office had a queue!! Guard only letting a few people in at a time, well worth the wait though as many shoes in stock and in popular sizes! No Uggs reduced though.
Disney store had sold out of most of the good stuff too- unless yours like High School Musical or plush toys.
WHSmiths had plenty of books reduced, looked like the top whatever books (popular ones) but didn't look at prices! I went in for calenders which they seemed to no longer sell?
Foyals had nothing really reduced but Xmas stock.
Whittards were offering free samples and reductions of around 50-70% on Xmas stock (chocolates) from what I could tell.
All Saints were around 50% off from what I could tell (still too pricey for mee)
Uniqlo had a massive queue and only a handful of discounts. Not that big a deal IMO but a tidy store and most sizes in stock from what I could tell.
BodyShop seemed worth a visit as stock from last season had been bought back and reduced again: one item had been £8 at full price and was being sold at £1.50 for an example.
Think that Topshop needs to be reduced further before I can say it was really worth it- one or two really good deals there but only from past seasons, nothing you cpuldn't get online from what I could see though loads and loads of stuff!
Superdrug again had all the Xmas gift stuff reduced. Store was far less packed but by then it was around 6.30pm.
Debenhams open 'till 10pm but all the good stock had gone. Still can't quite get my head around toddlers running around Debenhams or balling their eyes out while their parents picked out perfumes and handbags at 9.30pm though- maybe I'm just old before my time but still believe kids should have a bed time even in school holidays!0
