playing the waiting game

I have a strong feeling today is not going to be the best day for bargains. Over the next few weeks I think we'll see some pretty good prices as retailers start getting a bit desparate.

Dunno, I got a couple of bargains in matalan and JJB. I usually never get anything in the sales, but am happy to report I got trainers, boots and a coat all half price, handbag and hat less that half price. So I'm a happy girl :j

I went out today - the streets were packed, I can't see why a shop owner would slash prices on too much today. See whats left later in the week perhaps - problem is knowing when/where. Depends what you're after though, I'm sure. I looked in Hmv, Game etc, nothing much different to usual 'offers' (ie still more than online price).

Edit: I thought about going down to matalan, perhaps I will check it out another day.

Have to say i prefer sitting at home snapping up bargains on the internet. i hate shopping when it's busy.
  • I'm with poster 2 and 3. I spent my morning in the Trafford Centre. It was PACKED! Apparently this is the first year boxing day has been on a Saturday for 11 years and retailers are expecting a massive influx of cash! I reckon they're getting it so far.

If you are a random size...28l or 46s pants...then by all means wait until it has been trampled a but...then buy it.

Thing is if they're expecting loads of cash spent they wont cut prices so much.
  • At first glance online I'm not v impressed with any of the sales, although I did read somewhere that they're not going to be as good as last year because profit margins have been so low.

I'm definitely going to wait it out a bit longer. If only to avoid the crowds!

    Monday is bank holiday right?

So anyone else finding the sales a bit lacklustre? I really believe if you dont see any real bargains you should save your money. Make the shops sweat a bit!
