One long one, like a slinky - I use about 3-4 coils for each bracelet so about 10 bracelets from that 40 coils.

Hi again ladies. So I still havent managed to find enough money to make a big bead purchase online. :(

However I had some ebay plus points so purchased some memory wire, mixed beads, and chain nose pliers and had a little play and made a bracelet. I was quite pleased with my first make, although I am going to undo it when I have all my supplies so I can do it 'properly' (I was supposed to wait but was far too excited so just wanted to have a go!). I struggled abit with folding the wire over at the ends though, so think I will have to have a little research on how to do this and have a practise too.

I do have a few questions though. When I put the bracelet on it has now become really slack and and end of the bracelet that is at the top is draping away from the wrist, so it looks like it will fall off. It seems like the wire isnt strong enough or something. Do you think this is what it is? From when Ive looked I cant seem to see different thickness of the memory wire. Or do you think maybe I overloaded it with beads that were too heavy? I bought a memory wire that was already cut into 3 loops (I think) but didnt have quite enough beads to fill it so cut a couple of inches off the end. Would this have made a difference?

Ive since been to car boots over the weekend and purchased loads of bead necklaces to cut up and my dads given me some of his old pliers to use to cut the memory wire too so Im going to have another go at making a bracelet this weekend I think. Just another practise one.

    GF x

You people really make me want to make jewellery! It's my birthday tomorrow so I'm secretly hoping for some beads. My friend asked what I'd like and I gave her some links to bead sellers on ebay so fingers crossed :).

I haven't been making much recently so I thought I'd share the necklace I'm wearing today which I made ages ago. It's made using antique brass findings with onyx beads and vintage stacked flower parts :).
