    :rotfl: Mad, isn't it?

Speaking of general stupidity, I telephoned Natwest a few days ago to ask about their overdraft repayment plan, how it worked, how much I could borrow, etc. Bizarrely, I was told that they weren't allowed to discuss this with me over the 'phone, and that I could either be sent an information pack or go to my local branch to speak to one of those ever-helpful 'graduate managers' (who are unaware of the [what I see as a very important!] distinction between under- and post-graduates). Why couldn't he discuss this with me over the 'phone? All I wanted to know was how much the repayments would be! So, that call cost me 25p on my mobile, and I found out absolutely nothing.

Trip to the bank to see a 'graduate manager' tomorrow. I simply can't wait.

  • As a potential accountant you'll realise the importance of budgetting!

In your budget you will need an amount to payoff a monthly amount of your od plus an amount to cover the interest or other charges otherwise you will never get rid of it.

I would negotiate with the bank for some more breathing space; until lt least you receive your first paycheck. After that you may be able to keep the od below £1k.

    Good Luck.
