http://!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!/o2-samsung-tocco-lite-clearance.html (not sure why the link isn't working?) it's on mobiles.co.uk

click the 24 month option. £15 a month for 100 minutes and unlimited texts with a free Tocco Lite and 13 months free.

I know i have to redeem the 13 months by sending off my bills every few months but that shouldn't be a problem. The company seems fine, they are part of carphone warehouse. Can anyone find any fault with this deal? Seems slighty too good to be true. £195 cashback and a free phone!!

  • I've heard horror stories about mobiles.co.uk and their cashback deals. Be careful.

If you do go for the deal, make sure that you send the bills off in good time,

Hi, as others have said , as long as you are methodical and study and stick to the redemption terms and conditions you might get your cashback. You should also be aware that as this is a 'clearance' mobile , it is basically a phone that has been returned by a previous customer and you could therefore end up with an intermittent fault or slight cosmetic imperfections.

hi guys, thanks for the responses, i was thinking of going for a different deal that has automatic cashback when you sign up. Less chance of going things wrong and its a better, non-clearance phone.

Can anyone recommend any other phone/contract websites?

Hi, the one site that I have had numerous contracts with and never had any problems is buymobilephones.net - They have been 100% reliable whether it was automatic cashback/ redemption cashback or free gift.
  • Just to say 100 minutes a month is not very good and neither are 24 month contracts (i.e. two years) during which time there may be better deals etc.

Also if anything does go wrong with the phone, which, as someone has pointed out, may have already been returned by another customer, Carphone Warehouse are notoriously bad at dealing with complaints, even where they are contractually wrong and being threatened with litigation (small claims court).

Definitely too good to be true.

Remember to follow the t&c of the cashback deal to the letter, make sure you send the original bill, make sure it is sent recorded, signed for, so they cannot say they haven't received it.

I had a similar contract with one stop phone shop, which is also part of carphone warehouse, but they still ripped me off with one of their cashback redemption deals.

If you miss one thing the entire cashback redemption becomes invalid, so say on your first redemption you sent a photocopy of the bill, they could invalidate the entire cashback on a technicality (which is basically what they did to me).

Personally I would go for the deals that either have instant cashback or a free gift such as a ps3, laptop etc. At least with those deals there is a lot less that could go wrong.

You might be better off going O2 Simplicity and buying your own phone, rolling contract and decent amount of minutes and texts for £15 at the moment its 300 talk and 600 texts.
  • I was also dubious as i took out a 24month contract with o2 on dialaphone.
The package was excellent. I got a blackberry curve, which i sold on ebay for £200, as i already have a good phone. I had unlimited texts, 600 free mins and then a whopping £200 automatic cashback. It did come within 28days as a cheque, i was really worried that it wouldnt!nI did lots of checking about the site first and it has quite bad reviews. You could keep checking the status of your order online tho, they sent a text before the cashback was sent too.
Its worth giving them a shot! Overall that £400 paid for my xmas and the contract was £25 a month, which was less than my last contract so im not worried about being tied down for 24months!
Good luck with what you chose!
