Can you eat the bacon used on top when cooking the turkey?

Probably a silly question but I was thinking of putting it in a sandwich, but not sure how it 'works' considering the bacon gets intimate with raw turkey!

I didn't think there would be a problem, just thought I'd make sure! It's just that Im always buying steaks, pork/lamb chops and you here soi many stories about not letting one meat touch another, wash your hands after, dont cut with the same unwashed knife etc.0

No you should NOT eat it. You should bring it round to OUR house, we love it. As the bacon and turkey both start life in the oven as raw and end up cooked, it is no different to pigs in blankets or other similar things, delicious!0

If so, then whatever of it got intimate with the bacon will be cooked too.

I meant say 30 minutes into the cooking of the turkey, ie when the turkey is barely cooked yet the bacon is. Not after hours and hours0
