Credit report - how do I find out my credit rating?

I've decide I'm going to write myself an action plan for the next 6 -12 months about how I'm going to go about sorting my debt out. But I've been thinking that I should really look at my credit report to find out what my credit rating is. But how do I go about this and how much does it cost me? I'd really appreciate your help as I want to get the balling rolling...NOW!

Alternatively, you can send the statutory £2 fee to either or all of the main credit reference agencies - Experian, Equifax or Call credit with a covering letter requesting your files.

  • I have just been charged £4.99, for APPARENTLY INADVERTANTLY requesting my Credit Score. Join for 30 days FREE, and you can see/print your Credit Report, which is the only useful info anyway.

I concluded from the advice of the Experian phone operator, that you do have to very careful not to order the meaningless credit score, and therefore paying £4.99.

Experian seems to derive significant income from this low trick, so proceed with caution. Refunds are out of the question.

Ask for it back and complain, then cancel your account before you get charged again.
