When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important
today i will:
stay at work till 3.30 when flexi time lets me go home yay!
check online banking - make sure everything is where it's suposed to be
check free scratchcards
check free bingo
left overs for lunch, at my sisters for tea
going to make a cake or two towards tomorrow's celebrations
scrounged a lift from my sister to get to parents tomorrow so OH and i only use one car (he's going there straight from work)
OMG i'm starting the thread for today - or at least i can't seem to find one already started!

Hi everyone
Merry xmas and a fabulous 2010 to you all, another year to make some serious dents in my debt and working on getting my balances down!
Today I have:
Stayed at home.
NSD.
Stopped smoking today (not sure how long that will last, am scared!)
Sorted out my online banking.
Updated my spending spreadsheets and budget.
Reduced my total in my signature to just over £40 000, can't wait to be under £40 000!
Completed Toluna surveys.
Completed Lightspeed surveys.
Cooked food from the freezer and storecupboards.
Have a good evening peeps!
catmiaow I've just noticed your weight loss in your signature and that's truly amazing! 58.5 pounds. I'm so jealous as I've only managed 32 pounds so far but as your signature shows, it can be done! I've another 35 to go! Am hoping that the stopping smoking's not going to put a spanner in the works! Am determined not to let it happen!
Cheers
Casper

I phoned around the council today, trying to sort out a payment plan for a debt I've been ignoring. Didn't exactly get anyway, but it made me feel in control
Not looked through the sales to avoid temptation.
And today is my official first day as a DFW. I faced up to what I owe and more importantly, decided to work through them rather than bury my head in the sand. Wanted to cry when I find out EXACTLY how much I owe, lmao, but I guess I needed to know the truth for the kick up the bum.
I also paid £1.50 from one of my debts. It's not much, I know, but if I make a couple of £1/£1.50/£2 payments a month, it'll all add upStarting debt: 3399.39 / Debt now: 2975.39VSP Challenge 2012: £39.58/£100 Crazy Clothes Challenge 2012: £3.00/£150
