for SA online yes it is very normal to get your money this fast. If you had sent a letter to reclaim a PAYE tax rebate you would have been looking at roughly 4 weeks or more.0

a few months back i recieved a letter from them saying i was fined for not filling out my tax form from the previous year. i explained to them that i wasnt even self employed at that time but they kept insisting i was and fined me a total of £400 for not sending it. i decided to fill one out any way and it turns out that they owed me over £300 it took them at least 2 months to send me the cheque. so was a bit surprisd that i got this within 2 days. also will they not want proof of reciepts that i have? also the same thing happened to my partner they fined him for not doing his tax forms even though he was paye and they have made him pay back over £200. they said that its his problem that he dont know if he pays enough tax. even though he sent them his wage slips.0

I'm not sure how it is now in the age of online SA but in the olden days when everyone had a paper return, it was a legal requirement to fill it in and send it back if you were sent an SA tax return. When you stop being self employed, you need to make sure you have informed HMRC and asked them to stop sending you the SATR's.0
