  • I received a couple of parcels through the post and thought it very strange so I did a bit of digging and traced them as coming from Littlewoods, upon speaking to their fraud department it seems this is part of an identity theft scam, some one sets up a credit account in your name at your address and gets something small sent to that address, they then change the delivery address and order large amounts of stuff sent to a different address and you end up with the bill in your name at best affecting your credit score and at worst you might have to pay for all everything they ordered in your name. My advice is to contact littlewoods and report this before you become a victim.

    Hello

I had the same thing happened...

A laptop was delivered to me by Littlewoods. Not having a Littlewoods account I found this a bit odd. I called them and was advised that someone had opened a credit account in my name with my address, but used a fake telephone number and fake email address. They then ordered a laptop and had tried to change the delivery address to a house somewhere in South London. Littlewoods had (thankfully!) refused to do this as it was a high value item. They told me that had it been something smaller, e.g. £50 value, they might well have delivered it to the other address and I would be none the wise until I started to unknowlingly default on the payments. I ifnd it very scary that they are willing to deliver to an alternative address on a first order with no proof that the person who opened the account even lives at the billing address! Littlewoods have launched an investigation. Hopefully they'll catch them. They are picking up the laptop tomorrow and have had to put a note on my credit file stating that I have been a victim of identiy theft which will alert other companies should the criminals try and use my details with another company.
  • Aldaniti is still alive and well - I received an email this morning stating my 'Membership Card' was ready for up to 70% discounted holidays and I should activate it.

The giveaway with these scams is that the member's name is merely my email address and there is no reference to my real name.

This 'company' has been around for some time and up to all sorts of tricks. Why is nothing done about closing them down?
