Hi,
Were out of bread and to save me goin into tescos for a loaf of bread and coming out with £20 worth of 'crap' i thought id make one in my breadmaker...afterall..that is what it is intended for..NOT to gather dust on my kitchen worktop
Question..can i use fresh milk in place of powdered milk as I don't have any in? If so how much to use? The recepie is asking for 2.5 tbls skimmed milk powder.
Also oil is listed as an ingrediant..doesnt state which kind..is olive oil gonna work ok?
Thanks, Helen x

Yes you can use fresh milk if you are going to make bread straight away, its when you leave it on a timer they do not recommend using fresh milk, but having said that it would not matter if you don't put any milk in either.

olive oil should be okay or you could just leave it out.0

So the bread would taste nice without ANY milk or oil added in?love my little man he is amazing :j0 -
Should be fine, if you have butter you could put an ounce of that in ot sunflower or veg oil, I do not put olive oil in unless I am making olive bread,

I'm still new to this BM lark! But, (following advice from on here!!), I haven't put any milk powder in and all my loaves (just onto my 10th!!), have turned out perfectly.

I ran out of powdered milk once and used fresh milk instead and it was fine. Also ran out of butter so used vegetable oil and it actually tasted better ! Official DFW Nerd Club Member #37 Debt free Feb 07 :cool:0
