Hi
Please can someone help me?
I decided to give the oven a good clean last night, my hubby seeing how busy I was offered to do this for me, I thought brill let him get on with it, how I regret this!! He, in his infinite wisdom, decided while he was at it, to spay some WD40 at the fan inside the oven and now it STINKS!!!! I have had the oven on for hours today trying to "burn away" the smell and it is less than it was but it still really smells fumey. Can anyone suggest anything that may help as I have visions of all my Christmas dinner smelling of burning WD40 and to save my hubbys neck!!:mad::mad::mad::mad:
ps I have tried putting a bowl of water with lemon in but to no avail.

I think your hubby needs to get his marigolds on and give the oven another thorough cleaning paying particular attention to where he's sloshed that muck on the fan. When he's done that I'd throttle him after I'd given his !!!!! a good kicking.0

***** MEN!!!
Unfortunatly he has sprayed at the fan through the grill at the back where you cant get at to clean.0 -
He's a dead man. If you can't get rid of the smell running the oven at its highest temp you'll have to keep everything you cook in there well-covered with foil. OR nip to Argos and get a cheap table-top oven while you still can.0

could you try water in a tin, and lemon slices / juice? Still on hottest setting, but I am guessing until the WD40 has burned off, it will still smell ? Not sure, just know that lemon gets off other smells, cant be more help

Baking soda might help according to THIS site.
"It also helps to keep a small box of baking soda inside your oven whenever you're not using it. Baking soda can absorb many of the foul odors that form inside your oven. Make sure to remove the baking soda box when you're ready to cook or bake"“Careful. We don't want to learn from this.”0 -
