this came from kim and aggie:
How to: For general deodorising, we advise using homemade carpet deodorizer on a monthly basis, or as needed. The carpet should be treated in the evening and left overnight. Mix the following ingredients: 1/2 cup baking soda (bicarbonate of soda) 1/2 cup cornflower 15 drops of your favourite essential oil fragrance. Work the mixture into the carpet with a stiff brush, leave and vacuum the following day. Sprinkle after you tinkle!0 -
Would a vacuum get it up though?
I use a steam cleaner once a week with essential oil in it which seems to do the trick.2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040 -

Oh i've done it with this, and it really does work! Takes a bit more energy to vacuum it up tho if you rub it into the carpet with a brush, so i just sprinkle it all over, leave for a couple of hours then hoover it up0
