even if they are half price, i wouldnt risk buying a vista laptop with the intention to upgrade to Win 7, or downgrade to XP.
a few vista pcs seem to be designed to specifically run Vista and nothing else.
I have a Sony Vaio C2Z and it doesn't even let me install Vista updates without ruining my display. Same thing happens when I install Win 7, and XP doesn't make any changes.0 -
W7 is based on Vista isnt it, there should be not problems for the vast majority of people.0

I wish people would think or ask advice before they let their belly's rumble.
All retailers have bogus half price deals for sales. Supermarket half price wines sprin to mind, Ben & Jerrys Ice Cream £2 rather than £4.99.
If a PC/Laptop is designed specially to run with Vista then Win 7 will make it run like a Dream. Vista sucked the life out of hardware so in some cases it was more powerful than needed to getr acceptable performance. Also be aware the Free WIn 7 upgrades carry a P&P charge averaging 12 - 25 quid dependant on manufacturer, not the retailer. Also it is only on machines with Vista Home Premium or better.New PV club member. 3.99kW system. Solar Edge with 14 x 285W JA Solar panels. 55° West from south and 35° pitch.0 -

Earlier this year we bought a Samsung Touch Sensitive Hob, and a Zanussi Condensor Dryer.
Both items had increased in price.
We paid £220 for the hob, shown as £299.99
We paid £239 for the dryer, shown as £259.99
I see no sale.
The sale starts tomorrow 24/12/2009!!!!!!!!!!! Maybe they have increased prices but until you see the reduced prices we will not know if it is a con. or not!0 -
