Jerry Springer the Opera - tickets

The press has been reporting that if you go to the Cambridge Theatre Box Office with a Bible this week, you can get tickets to see Jerry Springer - the Opera at a "discounted" price of £10. Normally you'd have to pay £50-odd, depending on the seat. The fact that you have to show a Bible - purportedly to prove that you're a "Christian" - means you obviously have to book in person. You can't book Bible discounted tickets over the phone or on the internet.
What the press don't tell you is that Cambridge Theatre have actually been selling their unbooked seats on the day, each day, at the box office for £10 since November 1st, 2004 - Bible or no Bible. So unless the hype results in full bookings, I suspect the in-person discount will continue well after this week.
The press don't say whether Bible bearers can book in advance - I suspect they can't. The press also don't say if there's any restrictions on the number of tickets per person, to prevent touting.
Maybe the hyped Bible discount is a genuine offer that really expires at the end of this week - or maybe it's like the ads you see on telly for DFS, a discount sale that pretends it's going to end on Sunday, but never actually does.
Still - there's the info, you decide for yourself.
