put pictures of various well known celebs/films/album covers/brand logos (or othe suitable theme) into a montage and have a picture quiz?

or you could google for a '7 W o t W' type quiz (ie 7 Wonders of the World)

or a quiz about the past year/decade in review if current affairs would interest?

A firm fav in our house now is a game called Rapidough, basically it's pictionary but making models with playdough instead! Goes down well with all ages. You play in teams and get to steal some of the opponents playdough when you get one right! That way you end up modelling with a tiny bit of playdough! The game is in the shops but at late notice you could make some HM playdough and write some words, objects, actions etc on little cards. Take an egg cup to steal playdough with and a stop watch!
