Yeah thats because they are in administration. Are the calendars still only 30% off?

Yes because they are a concession and apparently they will be collected at the end of the day by the concession.

Not sure if that will happen or whether they will flog them off in the last hour or so.

Just a note of caution too. The 90% off is usually the original price on DVDs, not the marked down price. i.e. DVD marked £12.99 and then a £9.99 sticker is actually £1.29 as the 90% came off the higher price. Same happened with 1 of my books but the 2 others were ok.

Ah I see, I noticed a few nice calendars in the glasgow branch yesterday, but most were £8.99 with 30% off. Wasn't really that great a deal as usually calendar club stores reduce all of theirs to half price on boxing day :)

Noticed council library staff member in Borders earlier. Looked like they were working there as on in Library polo shirt. Could this be council moneysaving in action - sending staff out to the sales to buy goods instead of ordering direct with suppliers?

If that means they've got some extra cash to actually put some grit and salt boxes on the roads, that's fine by me!

Tell me about it. As it happens after I left Borders had to pop over to see someone. Got almost to the top of their road and suddenly I wasn't moving. A load of cars behind me also had to stop and then found they couldn't move either so we had to begin getting the last car in queue to reverse and turn around etc. Even if the council can't get out to grit all roads couldn't they put pots of grit roadside for people to use themselves if they get stuck?

No sign of grit anywhere near me. Council won't give us any unless we live in a remote location or on a steep hill, despite the road having a couple of sharp bends (and people being stupid enough to park their cars on those bends).
