We always have a standard pancakes with golden syrup and banana, so this year was thinking of making it more exotic!!!
If we made blueberry pancakes - is it just sticking blueberries in the mix?
And how to make a blueberry sauce? Thanks!

Yep, just add blueberries once you've made the rest of the mix.
If you eat meat, american style pancakes with very crispy streaky bacon and maple syrup is absolutely delicious!Despite the name, I'm actually a laydee!0 -
There's nothing wrong with some good old banana, especially if you melt butter in a pan, add the sliced bananas with some brown sugar and cinnamon, then flambee with a little dark rum.....yummy!
If you really don't want bananas again, how about blackberries with some mixed spice.....just soften them in a pan on a low heat with the spices....you can do the same with apple, or add the apple to the blackberries.....
We are having the American style pancakes for Christmas breakkie this year, along with the rum bananas (it burns off so is ok for kids to enjoy too, if they like the flavour that is....could always leave the rum out (!)):heart2::heart2:On ne voit bien qu'avec le coeur :heart2::heart2:we're debt freeeeeeeeeeeee....FREEEEDOM!!! :j:T0 -

Personally I'm partial to some Morgans Spiced Rum, but any dark rum should do.....:heart2::heart2:On ne voit bien qu'avec le coeur :heart2::heart2:we're debt freeeeeeeeeeeee....FREEEEDOM!!! :j:T0 -
How about cranberry pancakes? I've never made them but I think they would look nice and festive - Google search shows a lot of recipes, here's one: http://www.recipezaar.com/Cranberry-Pancakes-192846
Some cookery programme I watched recently made a lovely cranberry mix using orange juice, cranberries, sugar and I think there were some nice aromatic spices in there too. Very Christmassy.Trying to spend less time on MSE so I can get more done ... it's not going great so far!
Sorry if I don't reply to posts - I'm having MAJOR trouble keeping up these days!

Hubby loves bacon and maple syrup but no matter what he says I will not eat it lol! Although we had a friend stay once and I made them a cooked breakfast and he tried it and loved it.

funnily enough, whilst staying with family in Canada as a teenager, I was eating breakfast one morning with my uncle and he was dousing his pancakes and bacon liberally with maple syrup...this was too weird for me so I stuck with ketchup...which he found even more weird?!?!? What's weird about ketchup on your bacon???:heart2::heart2:On ne voit bien qu'avec le coeur :heart2::heart2:we're debt freeeeeeeeeeeee....FREEEEDOM!!! :j:T0

I watched Jamies Christmas thing on TV last week and he made pancakes with pear in them - he used a mug of flour, a mug of milk, and an egg and grated a pear into the mixture.
Dead easy and dead cheap too! :j0
