Be careful though, it does not have the HDCP necessary to receive HD broadcasts.

Sorry. I must say avoid. Note this is HD compatible, not HD Ready. This means you could come a cropper in the future with HD TV and HD discs.

The disciption says this TV is HD Compatible which means it will support a high definition picture. Connect your XBOX or your Sky HD box into the monitor's HD component input and enjoy ?????

Surely this is true or they could be done by the trade disciption act??

Or can you get away with it these days?
  • "-MDMI in" < That must be a typo, and mean HDMI, and if has HDMI, it's easy to assume it has HDCP, I suggest anyone seriously considering this use the Aria comment system to ENSURE it has HDCP before buying this.

'HD Compatible' means that the TV can display a HD image but not necessarily at a HD resolution. It'll play the image but it'll be downscaled to a lower resolution, which kind of defeats the object!

'HD Ready' means that not only will the screen display a HD image, it'll do it at a HD resolution i.e. 720p or 1080i.
